Administration

We have a team of reception and admin staff. They are here to help you make the best use of the services we provide. They help the doctor organise his work and make it possible for him to see as many patients as possible.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Additional Staff

Community Nurses

District nurses work for Locala and are attached to the practice and working in the community. They are not based in the practice but can be contacted if necessary by telephoning them on 0300 3045555. District nurses provide home nursing for patients who are disabled or too ill to attend the surgery. They also give help and advice to carers.

Health Visitors

Health visitors can give advice on health care for children up to the age of the child starting school. Health visitors can help with the health and development of babies and children, parenting support, impact of new baby in the family, parents’ emotional wellbeing and extra support at times of stress. For further information and queries they can be contacted by telephoning 0300 3045555.
