Child Immunisation Team

Clinics are held in the health centre on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Your child will be sent an invite when they are due for immunisation. It is important that you arrive for your appointment on the date and time on your invite. If for any reason you cannot attend on that day contact the team by telephoning the number on the invite letter. Please also remember to bring your child’s ‘red book’.

Travel Vaccines

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important that you complete a travel vaccination request form at last 6 weeks before you are due to travel so that immunisation status and requirements can be assesses by one of our Practice Nurses. – as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine, Your second appointment needs to be a least 2 weeks before you travel to allows the vaccines to work

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Travel Vaccination Prices

Travel advice is covered by the NHS, however some vaccinations and prescriptions are only available privately.
